I prefer either Shokaku or Lexington more. Upgrading the planes to their toughest versions for the ship requires ShipXP and Credits, but it also helps. Skills that keep the planes healthier/tougher/durable are the most important. Captain's Skills for CV Commander are important.ĩ skill points is my "bare minimum" for a CV Commander, and 13 skill points is much better. The Japanese CV's have effective torpedoes and AP bombs and their rocket planes use HE warheads, but (like the USN) have a long delay in the rocket-firing sequence.Įdited to add: Ahskance's videos cover this, but I'll say it here, too. The British CV's are well-equipped for anti-DD work, but take a while to soften-up & burn-down more armored targets. The Weser is specialized for attacking targets which are most affected by AP ordnance. Versatile, but sometimes disappointing, especially with their bomb dispersion. The Ranger and the Midway are "all arounder" style CV's. :-) So, each CV offers virtues/vices/quirks to consider. Granted, not every target & island situation lends itself to this, but it's worth learning.įor attacking DD's, the British pattern-drop of HE bombs is ideal.įor attacking BB's, the CV's equipped with AP bombs are ideal.Īs you've already figured out, those aren't the same CV's. Youtube making approaches to targets while using island to shield the planes from AA during part of the flight-path helps.
